PETAR YANEV, Kaba gaida (Rhodope bagpipe)

Petar Yanev’s bagpipe together with the voice of the Rhodope singer –Valia Balkanska flies over thirty years in the Cosmos on the board of American station “Voyager 1”. The song “Izlel e Delio Haidutin” flew on 20 August1977, together with other musical messages of the Earth to search for friends in other galaxies.
The bagpipe player Petar Yanev is one of the badges of Rhodope mountain. The unique sound of instrument has taken place in all parts of Bulgaria and in many countries around the world.
Being in love with the folklore, he likes the challenges and accept to participate in a project for creating a suit for kaba gaida and quartet. One part of the music in “Rhythms in re” is Bulgarian folk playing which he has received from the previous generations of bagpipe players and the other part is his own music – on a folklore base.
A prove for the original talent of the Rhodope musician Petar Yanev is that his plays are included in the album “The Big Bulgarian Bagpipe’s Masters”.
