She gets her music education in National School of Music and Dance Art – Plovdiv and National Academy of Music – Sofia. Her tutors are the world famous Prof. Christo Brambarov and his student Irena Brumbarova. In 1979 she graduates her master’s degree in education. She specializes in the vocal studio of Wagner Festival, Bayreuth, and in “Brahms studio”, Baden-Baden (Germany).She has received lots of awards in prestigious European choir competitions and festivals. Since 1986 she’s been teaching in the Academy of Music, Dance and Fine Arts – Plovdiv where in 2001 she attains academic rank. In her realization as an artist she puts accent on the chamber and cantata-oratorial music, with a huge repertoire of different genres and styles from the Baroque to modern tendencies in music. She performs alt and mecosoprano parts in the productions of Pergolesi, Bach, Handel, Haydn, Mozart, Rossini, Weber, Ivan Spassov. Together with the pianist Maria Chervenlieva – Gelev as a Chamber duo they have made over 250 concerts in Bulgaria and a large number of concert series all over Europe. During almost 30 years collaboration in the Duo, both artists have made the very first performances of some Bulgarian and Austrian composers. Lilia Ilieva is also a very welcome guest to Bulgarian televisions and radio programs. She has records in Bulgarian National Television and Bulgarian National Radio. Since the end of 2001 she’s been a vocal tutor in National Opera and Ballet, Antalya (Turkey). A special priority in her creative work is the parallel between vocal-technique and vocal-aesthetic aspects in the making of the opera parts and the general perfection of the young opera singers and their successful realization in opera theatre. |
