Elisabeth Polyzoides-Baich

Born 1959 in Graz. She studied with Christos Polyzoides at the Musikhochschule in Graz and with Franz Samohyl at the Musikhochschule in Vienna. She had master classes with Max Rostal, Ramy Shevelov, Arthur Grumiaux, and Wolfgang Marschner. Her professional career included working with the Vienna Chamber Orchestra, the Bavarian Radio Orchestra, and the Bach Kollegium in Munich before she moved to Cologne in 1989 to become a member of the first violin section of the Gürzenich Orchestra (Cologne Philharmonic). She has performed in nearly all European countries, as well as in America, Japan, and China, and is a member of “Das Kölner Streichsextett”. For more than twenty years, she has taught violin master classes.
