ANGEL DIMITROV, Tambura

  He was born on 29 June 1967 in a Bulgarian town called Haskovo. He started his musical education at the age of 6 and since 1979 he has studied the Bulgarian folklore instrument Tambura, which let him enter the Secondary Music School in Shiroka Luka in 1981. After his graduation, his application for the National Academy for Musical and Dance in Plovdiv was accepted. In his professional experience as a musician he has played equally well folk music, rock and ethno-jazz, and has been working with such famous musicians as Ivan Milev, Petar Ralchev, Ivo Papazov, Nedyalko Nedyalkov, Peyo Peev, Georgi Petrov, Teodosi Spasov amongst many many others. The main stream, determining the Angel Dimitrov's style, presence in the family of the great world guitarists, is the traditional Bulgarian folklore - basic and inseparable detail in his creativity and improvisation.
He creates many productions for solo Tambura and orchestrą :
Vaglarovsko horo, Diadovskata, A trip, Steps , Belozemska rachenitza, Todorovo horo, Shopsko horo, Varna’s dance, etc.

He has two solo albums published – “Distorting mirror” and “Proto-Bulgarians”.

He takes part many musical projects - in Bulgaria and Abroad.
